Overview
Waqte is JoFunction's time product, built for days that do not fit a grid.
The challenge
Calendar interfaces are inherited from meeting scheduling, where blocks are negotiated and fixed. Personal time is the opposite: mostly flexible, frequently interrupted, and shared with obligations you do not control.
Strategy
Treat flexibility as data. Each item knows how movable it is and how much it matters, which is enough information for the system to reflow a day on its own.
Design
The day is presented as a sequence rather than a grid, so fragments of time read as usable rather than as gaps. Plan and reality are shown together without turning the comparison into a score.
Engineering
A constraint-based reflow runs locally on device, so rearranging is instant and works offline. Notifications reflect the current plan rather than the original one.
Outcome
A planning product that is still correct at 4pm, which is the only test that matters.
